Q: What types of services do you offer?
I offer hypnotherapy, personal, and business coaching for clients in person or via videoconferencing.
I want to make my services available to anyone who is interested in changing themselves and their lives for good (play on words intended!). Therefore, I offer one-on-one and group coaching, as well as a suite of products at various price points,.
Q: What modalities do you practice?
A: I offer the following change modalities that provide clients with life-long, sustained change:
- Personal transformation coaching
- Neurolinguistic Programming
- Mindfulness Practices
- Business coaching
I offer these services through my variety of products, group coaching, and, when time permits, one-on-one coaching.
Q: Can you diagnose mental health disorders? Are you a licensed therapist?
A: Nope. I am not a licensed California State mental health professional and do not provide psychotherapy, counseling, or any other mental health service that would require a license, nor do I hold myself out to provide such services. I provide coaching, consulting and educational services that often result in substantial learning, transformation, and the acceleration of life goals and outcomes.
Q: What makes your services so effective?
A: I have over 20 years of experience helping people make positive changes in their lives. I have worked with thousands of clients in groups and 1:1; thus, I have “done it all and seen it all.” I also make sure that every client I work with is provided with a variety of material prior to our first session so they come equipped with the goals they want to achieve and understand the tools that I use. We can therefore tailor our work together to get the best results.
Q: How fast will I see results?
A: Everyone is an individual, so there is no set answer for a given presenting issue or goal. Change takes as long as it takes. That being said, many of my clients start to see change immediately. Hypnotherapy and NLP are extremely effective change modalities that can offer sustained change in just a few sessions. I’ve cured fears and phobias in just minutes, and helped clients sleep better in just one session.
That being said, often times the issue a client comes in with isn’t the only issue, and may even be indicative of other, underlying problems. Therefore, as we heal one issue, we may find that others crop up in the process. This is where self exploration begins, and why the process is so transformative. It is also why sometimes a client can engage to resolve a problem, but end up getting much more than they came in for.
Q: What are your qualifications?
A: I am a certified NLP Practitioner, certified NLP Master Practitioner, certified NLP Health Practitioner, certified NLP Trainer, Anthony Robbins Trainer Academy graduate and have a certificate in Transforming Communication. I am also a certified hypnotherapist.
I have also received training in the following tools:
- Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
- Dynamic Spin Release
- Mindfulness practices
- Authentic Communication
- Mind-Body health applications
- Guided imagery and guided meditations
- Goal Setting and Achievement
- Awareness practices
- Personal Coaching and Business Coaching
I am a member of the American Board of NLP.
Q: Do you accept clients via telephone or Skype?
A: Although many clients prefer to come in to one of my two offices in the Bay Area, either by taking a short drive or even flying from across the country, it is easy to engage with me for group or one-on-one coaching via Skype. (I also offer group coaching session via a free web platform. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.)
Through the telephone or Skype, I can effectively coach clients anywhere in the world. In those sessions, I can use your verbal feedback. For instance, I can ask you to rank, on a scale of one to ten, the deepest state of hypnosis you can imagine. Most clients surprise themselves with the depth of their hypnotic state, and change can happen at even a level two or three. Thus, we can get a lot of work done even with miles between us.
Q: Does insurance cover the cost of hypnosis or coaching?
At this time, few insurance companies cover hypnosis or coaching. I do not bill insurance. If your insurance company provides coverage for hypnotherapy or coaching, I can provide you with the information you need for a reimbursement.
If you have a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA), contact your administrator, as you may be able to cover the cost of your sessions with these funds.
Q: What does the process of engaging in working with you look like?
A: A great way to get started is to watch some of my YouTube videos for free, or to buy one of my products. This gives you an idea of my coaching style, and will give you some great tips on focusing your energy to create goals to change your life.
If you’re really motivated to make those changes, give me a call. First we’ll have an initial chat on the phone for about 15 or 20 minutes to make sure there is good reason for us to work together–that there is a good initial fit. I want be reasonably sure I can coach you to achieve your goals and desired outcomes. If that is the case, then we will then discuss which option works for you: group or one-on-one coaching.
Pretty straight forward.
As previously mentioned, I have a very limited number of spots available for coaching, so I carefully interview my prospective clients.
Q: What do you charge for your one-on-one services?
Your investment will depend on what you would like to achieve or resolve. And every client is unique. So it is not something that can be answered specifically here. That is why I encourage you to reach out for a phone consultation so that I can determine how I can help you, and estimate how quickly I can guide you to your desired results.
All of that said, most people find that the work is fast and painless. A number of my clients had been in years of “talk-therapy” at great expense when they came to see me, and then had their issues resolved in a handful of sessions. They have then reported back months later that their changes had persisted, and found great value in what they had received.
Q: How many sessions will it take?
Everyone is an individual, so there is no set answer for a given presenting issue or goal. Many of my clients start to see some changes starting with the first session. Hypnotherapy and NLP are extremely effective change modalities that can offer sustained change in just a few sessions.
Other people have wanted to make deep changes in multiple areas of their life that had been a problem for them for decades. Those people needed months-long engagements.
So it really depends on what you want and what has stopped you from having it so far. I can give you an estimate during your consultation.
Q: Do you offer single sessions?
No, I do not anymore. I have found that a commitment of at least a few hours allows us commit to your getting the results you desire. That is why I typically require a package engagement, even if it is short.
If you think about it, a handful of hours is very little time–much less than one day–regardless of how it is spread out, to get you the outcome you want. A handful of hours is probably much less time that you have had your problem or desired your goal.
It also allows us to relax into the process, build one phase on the previous, and create real transformation..
Q: What is the difference between talk therapy and hypnosis or coaching?
A: Talk therapy often requires that the client acknowledge an issue they have with their logical, conscious mind, and find ways to live with the issue. Hypnosis and coaching can help clients overcome the issue by melding their logical mind with their subconscious.
For instance, someone who wants to lose weight may already recognize their desire to lose weight when reaching for that second portion. However, they feel guilty for their desire, and the food soothes their desire. Similarly, smokers probably realize how bad the habit is, given the constant media onslaught and doctors’ guidance. Yet, smoking can be relaxing to those who smoke. Humans are not always logical. Hypnosis and coaching acknowledge that when working on resolving these issues.
In addition, talk therapy is often prolonged. It isn’t uncommon for individuals to see a therapist for years. My goal is to provide sustained life changes for my clients as rapidly as possible. This means that many clients need many fewer sessions than those of a talk therapy client before the issue they initially came in with is resolved.
Q: Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is very safe. The movies and media may have you believe it is unsafe, or that you may be in a sleeping state, or that the hypnotist will make you do something against your will. In my office, you are always in control and never have to do anything you don’t want to do. Watch this hypnosis demonstration to see what it is like to be hypnotized- and also get a good idea of what it is like to work with me.
Q: Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
A: No. You will either fall asleep and wake up a bit later, or come out of the hypnotic state once you stop hearing my voice.
Q: Does hypnosis work on everyone? Will hypnosis work on me?
A: You need to be an active participant in your own healing process. If you are not willing to make the effort you need to change, or put in the work necessary, hypnosis- like any other change modality- will not work. Working with me will help you set goals that you can attain and maintain, with a little work and some dedication.
Q: What is the age limit?
A: Anyone over the age of 18 can independently seek the services of a coach or hypnotherapist. Minors need the permission of a parent or guardian before seeking hypnotherapy or coaching; if you are a parent or guardian seeking hypnotherapy or coaching for a minor, please contact me for a consultation discussion.
Q: Can hypnosis help me sleep better?
A: Yes. See our services page for more information on how hypnosis can help you sleep better.
Q: Can hypnosis help with chronic pain and pain management?
A: Yes. See our services page for more information on how hypnosis can help with chronic pain and pain management.
